The day's tradition

Waking to Mahishasuramardini মহিষাসুরমর্দিনী

At four in the morning Akashvani broadcasts Mahishasuramardini, the chandipath and songs led by Birendra Krishna Bhadra's recitation. Generations of Kolkata have woken to it in the dark, and for many it is the moment Pujo begins.
